World Spa Awards has today announced the finalists for its prestigious 2017 programme to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in spa and wellness tourism.

The full list of nominees can be viewed here.

Voting will open on the 23rd June 2017 - and run for 16 weeks - when spa consumers and professionals working within the travel and tourism industry, are asked to make their voice heard and vote for who they think should be crowned the very best of the best.

Winners will be announced at the 3rd annual World Spa Awards which will take place in Vietnam on the 9th December 2017.

World Spa Awards Managing Director, Rebecca Cohen, said: “Revealing the nominees for our annual awards programme is always an exciting time of year for the spa and wellness industry. Within the thriving luxury spa sector, we are seeing spectacular spas emerge in every corner of the globe.

"And in our fast-paced, modern lives it is encouraging to see the rapidly expanding wellness tourism market coming to the forefront for those seeking positive energy and new beginnings.

"As well as taking the time to vote for their favourites, we invite consumers and trade professionals alike to also discover new, inspirational and invigorating escapes awaiting them the world over!”

The awards aim to raise the bar for spa experiences and sit as part of the World Travel Awards, which have been rewarding quality across the leisure and tourism sector for 24 years.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa has been chosen to host the much-anticipated 3rd annual World Spa Awards.

Enviably situated on the pristine island of Phu Quoc – a lush, hidden paradise off the southern coast of Vietnam – JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa transports guests back to the bygone era of the early 20th century with Bill Bensley's whimsical design and exquisite detail evident throughout the property.

However, the standout at JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa is without a doubt the mushroom-themed Chanterelle - Spa by JW, which boasts a VIP treatment room with its own sauna and steam room, seven treatment rooms and one VIP treatment room, two reflexology rooms, two express treatment rooms, a sauna and steam room and a beauty salon.

Cohen added: “It is a great pleasure to reveal JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay as the host of the third World Spa Awards. The World Spa Awards team and I look forward to welcoming the leaders of the global spa and wellness industry to JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay - JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts brand’s flagship hotel in Vietnam – later this year.”

About World Spa Awards

World Spa Awards was developed in reaction to overwhelming demand from the spa industry for a programme that was fair and transparent. A programme with a mission to serve as the definitive benchmark of excellence, and to help to foster a new era of growth in spa tourism.

The voting methodology is simple: votes are cast by professionals working within the spa industry - senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators, agents and media - and by the public.
