We’ve separated our World Spa Awards categories into the following competition areas:

• Subregional Level categories are where you enter to compete with fellow spa and wellness properties within your country, state, province or emirate. The winner with the most votes overall goes on to take the regional title for that respective category. And in a similar manner the winner with the most votes overall goes on to take the World title for that respective category.
• Regional Level categories are where you enter to compete with fellow spa and wellness destinations at a regional level. The regions are Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Indian Ocean, Latin America, Oceania, Middle East and North America. The regional winner with the most votes overall goes on to take the World title for that respective category.
• World Level categories are open for entry at World Level only.

  A spa operating within the premises of a luxury hotel offering impressive spa facilities as well as spa services. (Enter at Sub-Regional Level only).

• Best Resort Spa Subregional Level

  A spa operating within the premises of a luxury resort offering impressive spa facilities as well as spa services. (Enter at Sub-Regional Level only).

• Best Wellness Retreat Subregional Level

  A place of escape from one’s normal daily life, offering both spa and wellness for mind, body and spirit, overall healthy lifestyle techniques and practices, including nutrition, a full programme of fitness (gym, yoga etc). A place of retreat for guests seeking to be re-energised whilst also nurtured. (Enter at Sub-Regional Level only).

• Best Day Spa Subregional Level

  A day spa is a business which provides a variety of services for the purpose of improving health, beauty and relaxation, through treatments such as facials, massages, etc. Typically, a guest will visit a Day Spa without requiring accommodation. (Enter at Sub-Regional Level only).

• Best Safari Spa Subregional Level

  A spa operating from a property in a safari location offering bush spa services. (Enter at Sub-Regional Level only).

• Best Spa Destination Regional Level

  Destinations renowned for numerous luxury spas within one area. Destinations travellers choose to travel to, specifically for the calibre of spas on offer there. (Enter at Regional Level only).

• Best Airline Lounge Spa World Level

  A luxury spa associated with an airline and located within an airlines lounge, offering travellers spa services before and/or after flights. (Enter at World Level only).
