The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort hosted the fourth Annual World Spa
Awards Gala Ceremony on October 26, where the much-anticipated
unveiling of the 2018 winners took place.
A total of 96 countries participated in the awards, however, the luxury
island resort still managed to make its mark on a national and
international level, due to the property’s world-renowned overwater
Iridium spa.
The resort received four of the most respected awards including the
‘Maldives' Best Resort Spa 2018’, ‘Indian Ocean’s Best Resort Spa 2018’,
the ‘World’s Best Resort Spa 2018’, and the ‘World’s Best Spa Signature
Treatment 2018 for its Caviar Journey’.
Upon receiving the four rewards, Alexander Blair, general manager,
said: “These awards are truly a great honour for the resort and puts in
the spotlight the most breath-taking spa anywhere on the planet.”
“From the stunning architecture to the experiences on offer to guests,
the spa is the crown jewel of St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort. It has
such a strong appeal to guests from the Middle East as it combines
modern luxury with privacy and the very latest in treatments.”
“Guests from the Middle East are very important to us and have played a
key part in winning these awards. They provide constant feedback and
challenge us to be the very best resort we can be – not only in the
Maldives but against other once-in-a-lifetime destinations across the
world,” says Blair.
The resort’s Iridium spa offers the most luxurious and sought-after
restorative wellness practices, including the award-winning, Caviar
Journey. The 210-minute treatment consists of a deep breathing exercise,
an exfoliation using bamboo and fruit enzymes. Utilising anti-ageing
caviar proteins to firm, tone, refine, and deeply hydrate the skin,
results are immediate, leaving skin looking supple, healthy, and
luminescent. This is followed by a therapeutic massage and a memorable
lavender bath, overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The spa also provides the latest personalised services curated by
Ayurvedic and acupuncture experts and features six private couple
treatment suites, a steam room, sauna and the Blue Hole Pool, the
Maldives’ largest heated seawater hydrotherapy pool.
Designed by Wow Architects, the resort incorporates aspects of
contemporary architecture and interior design inspired by Maldivian
traditions, marine life and culture. From the hotel’s iconic Whale Bar
to the stunning Iridium Spa, design and architecture are the key
elements to the property’s success.
