Breaking Travel News: Congratulations - Eden Roc Spa by Natura Bissé at Eden Roc Cap Cana has been honoured with the title of Dominican Republic’s Best Resort Spa at the World Spa Awards. How does it feel to have won?

Pedro Castillo: On behalf of all my colleagues at Eden Roc Cap Cana by Natura Bissé, I am extremely honoured to be receiving such an important award.

I am earnestly grateful for the recognition we have received for our work, having the recognition of the clients and travel experts is very important to us.

BTN: This is the second year in a row you have taken the title – what is it that separates the property from its competitors in the destination?

PC: I will say is a mutual effort, from all our staff at the spa to all our colleagues working in different areas of the hotel - there is no success without team-work.

So this recognition is for the staff working hard to provide service beyond excellence.

BTN: How useful are the World Spa Awards when it comes to promoting Eden Roc at Cap Cana to the global wellness community?

PC: We have been working very hard to place Eden Roc in the global wellness community since we open the spa two years ago.

Having this award is a great accomplishment that means we are in the right path even though there is more room for improvement.

The Caribbean is the perfect escape from big cities and work remotely, which means big hopes for our destination.

BTN: How would you describe the mood in Caribbean tourism in late 2020 – are there hopes for a resurgence post Covid-19 next summer?

PC: Eden Roc has been always the perfect place to relax and escape, after the pandemic, travel to places where you can avoid crowds become more needed, so our property is designed to re-discover yourself and this is what is needed these days.
